| Saw them in the mid seventies and I can remember Pete Agnew's bass guitar coming out
"loud and proud" as up till then all the other gigs I had attended,
the Bass was non existant. I can also remember Dan Mccafferty asking
everyone to check under their seats, someone had called the Appollo and told
them there was a bomb in the theatre. This was at the time of the IRA bombing
mainland Britain

| Yes indeed Peter.Pete Agnews bass would always sound great.I saw Nazareth about six
times at the Apollo,the best of all being the No Mean City tour in 1979 when ex SAHB
guitarist Zal Cleminson was guitarist alongside Manny Charlton.What a gig.I remember
Dan McCafferty wearing a prismatic eye patch during one song while a spotlight was
shone on to it.When he looked around the crowd it was like a laser coming at
you.
I saw them in 2001 at the Garage with my good friend Mo for the Homecoming
tour which was filmed for dvd release.The auld yins can still put on a good
show.

| Ive met Manny a number of times recently through my friend Bob Laidlaw who is a great
guitar builder and repairer all of Mannys huge guitar collection .Honestly he is some
laugh and Ive been urging him to write a book about touring with Naz it would be a
best seller !!
Anyway he is now living in texas and touring , writing and
recoring with his new band MCB ( Manny Charlton Band )Checkout his website

| Sometime in 1974? It was about the 3rd time we'd been to see Nazareth. That night the
Apollo was not very full and everything was fairly subdued for the first few
numbers.
As the band started into 'Shanghai'd in Shanghai' their current & not
overly successful single, the whole place went mental to the point where apparently
the balcony cracked.
From then on everyone moved up to the front for the remains
of a cracking concert, finishing with a sensational 'Broken Down Angel'.

| I WAS AT THE 9-20-81 GIG,AND AS ALLWAYS NAZ. KICKED ASS. TO THIS DAY I STILL HAVE MY
TICKET STUB NAZARETH SHIRT,I ALLSO TOOK ABOUT 7 OR 8 PHOTOS. THE STAGE WAS SO HIGH WE
HAD TO RELOCATE TO UPPER BALCONYS TO GET SOME GOOD SHOTS.I STILL REMBER THE BALCONY
SHAKING ON HAIR OF THE DOG!!!

| THE REALLY COOL THING ABOUT THIS NAZ.GIG WAS THAT BEFORE THE CONCERT ME AND MY
M8'S GOT OFF THE TRAIN AN WENT INTO BURNS HOUFF PUB ACROSS FROM THE APOLLO, ONLY TO
HAVE A FEW PINT'S WITH PETE AGNEW & DARRELL SWEET, THEY WERE SUCH GENT'S.WE TALKED
ABOUT THE GIG;S WE HAD SEEN THEM AT BACK IN THE STATE'S.THE TWO OF THEM SINGED
A FEW THING'S FOR US. REAL DOWN TO EARTH GUY'S.

| From what I remeber there was about 200 people in the audience, everyone was invite
to come down to the front of the stage.

| JAMES I DO NOT RECALL THE 9-20-81 GIG AS A SELL OUT BUT IT WAS BILLED AS A NAZARETH
HOMECOMEING. AND WAS JUST RELEASED AS A LIVE CD. YES NAZARETH ''live'' AT THE APOLLO,
I RECALL SINGING MY ASS OFF ON ''HAIR OF THE DOG''..... long live the
apollo!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

| that was my first gig at the apollo - widowmaker were supporting them and halway
through nazareths set. there was an IRA bombscare and we had to clear out for about
20 minutes and then the gig continued.

| Was at the 73 gig. It was the only time I got close to reaching the stage. About a
dozen of us made it to the small step about 8 ft up but none of us made it to the top
level in spite of Dan McCafferty's urging. The encore was "I Belong To
Glasgow" with McCaffetry clutching the Apollo Oscar. Great Night!
