And then he walked along the edge of the Circle

This is the place where we will post your stories about the Green's Playhouse, The Glasgow Apollo and Satelitte City (The Wee Apollo). As it develops we will break the stories up into sections such as Myths, Gigs I missed, Meeting the Bands, Where are they now etc. No story too trivial and we will only edit out bad language!

New Forum structure on Apollomemories soon.

Comments on Tangerine Dream [reply]

remember the first concert of theirs I saw at the Apollo and wondering what those to poles with balls on the end were!!  Well it was my first experience of laser light shows - WOW.
Wonderful memories of the Purple palace and I still have all my ticket stubs

remember seein tv show about venue in 1985 and saw poster with 84 0r 85 date onit confirm? [reply]

I remember being totally enthralled by it, so much so that I cut and bruised my knee on the seat in front from moving up and down in time to the relentless beat. If I recall the band actually left the stage midway through for a break and simply left their sequencers running. There was a huge cheer when Edgar Frose stood up to play a guitar solo. And the laser show was amazing - I had never seen anything like that before. Weren't The  ******ed playing across the road on the same night? Odd seeing all these hippy types mingling outside on the street with a load of punks. Don't recall any trouble. Can anyone confirm? [reply]

First seen them in 1978 'Cyclone' tour. They had a drummer and a 'vocalist' Amazing light show with the lasers. Went with a friend to see them. He was drunk and started singing 'Give us a T, Give us an A ... before he could spell it out , a bouncer chucked him out !  He was a big fan of theirs as well. [reply]
