And then he walked along the edge of the Circle

This is the place where we will post your stories about the Green's Playhouse, The Glasgow Apollo and Satelitte City (The Wee Apollo). As it develops we will break the stories up into sections such as Myths, Gigs I missed, Meeting the Bands, Where are they now etc. No story too trivial and we will only edit out bad language!

New Forum structure on Apollomemories soon.

Comments on Y&T [reply]

I remember seeing Y&T suporting AC/DC, and seeing them, again when they toured with rock goddess in a very underattended gig at the apollo.

i loved the way dave meniketti played the guitar and was blown away by the guitar solo he did, on his gibson les paul, switching between the pick ups, i'd never heard anything like that before.

I also remember meniketti getting the people form the circle to come down into the stalls. if i remember correctly the people who came down from the stalls got a big cheer from the people who populated the seats at the front of the stall, as that was the entire crowd.

but then again memory may have failed me there.

yeah, I saw that one too. Y&T were and still are an awsome band and deserved to be huge! Funnily enough I found the tour T-shirt for that gig recently (Meanstreak tour)but It must've shrunk 5 sizes since 1985!:^) I saw them at the SECC recently on the Whitesnake (sorry David Coverdale and his hired American Mercenaries)gig and they were brilliant. Still as powerfull live and looking not a year older- to sing along with 'I Believe in You' and 'Forever' brought back great memories of the Apollo.
