And then he walked along the edge of the Circle

This is the place where we will post your stories about the Green's Playhouse, The Glasgow Apollo and Satelitte City (The Wee Apollo). As it develops we will break the stories up into sections such as Myths, Gigs I missed, Meeting the Bands, Where are they now etc. No story too trivial and we will only edit out bad language!

New Forum structure on Apollomemories soon.

Comments on Rick Wakeman [reply]

Wakeman's first solo with The English Rock Ensemble lasted for nearly 4 hours and was the only time that when the lights came on the audience refused to leave and Rick came back on minus his cape and thanked the Apollo audience for all their support he had received with the Strawbs and Yes. He admitted that they had ran out of material to play and then played Merlin and The Battle for a second time and ran off the stage. [reply]

I'll never forget that gig. His band was outstanding and the atmosphere electric. I wasn't totally sure what to expect despite being a fan but it certainly was one of my favourite shows ever. We all really appreciated them coming back for those "repeat" encores. I also remember having to walk home after the last bus had left long before the end of the show. Thanks for set list too. I think I still have the ticket! [reply]
