| And then he walked along the edge of the Circle
This is the place where we will post your stories about the Green's Playhouse, The Glasgow Apollo and Satelitte City (The Wee Apollo). As it develops we will break the stories up into sections such as Myths, Gigs I missed, Meeting the Bands, Where are they now etc. No story too trivial and we will only edit out bad language!
New Forum structure on Apollomemories soon.

| I remember seeing Marc and T.Rex at the Apollo in the early 70's, but I'm not sure of
the exact dates. As I recall, Marc was sitting astride a rather large star on stage
at one point!
The concert wasnt one of the best that I've been too, but to see
Bolan Boogie Live in Glasgow was a real treat!

| I was at the one in early 74. My first gig. I was 13. I only got going because ma
pals aunt came with us. We were sitting near the front of the circle. The most
exciting thing for us at that time was to see T.REX! It felt like an eternity
before the lights went out. Then some lights started flashing. then the lights were
moving. presumably the music had started as well. then we could make out the
sillouette of a star rising up from the floor of the stage and the sillouette of Marc
Bolan on it. Flash, smoke mark Jumps off, the place erupts and were off and
runnin'! For years a thought it was the best ever entrance. The backdrop was
these huge free standing letters T.rex. At one point Micky Finn got up on the top of
them. A wis SO impressed. There was a picture in the Record the next day and some
story about fans gettin cut by the tambourines he threw into the crowd. A might be
imagining this, but am sure he through a guitar into the crowd as well. We were
sitting next to a group of about 6 girls who were squeezed into 3 seats. The ones who
got tickets had smuggled their pals in through the toilet windows. Their antics took
up all ma attention before the concert started as they were so excited by what they
had achieved. A wis impressed.

| He did throw a guitar into the audience - swung it round and round then let go. Could
have killed some poor little teeny bopper (ie a 16 year old me, except I was in the
balcony). Marc was pished out of his head. Fell off stage. Mickey Finn had to carry
him back on.
I remember especially the start - the ear-shattering first chords
of 20th Century Boy, then the lights blasting on, revealing about fifty people on
stage - Gloria Jones et al.And Scottish band member Jack who said 'Hullaw
there!'
I've still got the T.Rex Fan Club Christmas 1972 record.
